Do you know someone who has no medical insurance?
- I have known and know many people without insurance. I really do not see any alternative but going to a government sponsored program / socialized medicine. If something is not done soon, more hospitals will close and doctors will continue to leave the profession to the point where we will not have enough healthcare even for the insured
- yes, one of my wrestling teamates unfortunately doesnt have insurance, and he broke his knew, or sprained it really bad. im not sure, and he dislocated his shoulder. i think they should make it more readily available to people who need it
- Medical insurance should be put back in the free market. When they tied it to employers through legislation and special tax status, compe ion was reduced or eliminated. Without compe ion, quality suffered, and prices grew out of control. We need to get the market involved again. We do not have a crisis in other financial products such as car insurance, etc. because the free market operates there to keep prices low and quality high. Health insurance should be decoupled from employment. People should not lose their insurance when they lose or change a job. They should be able to shop for the best policies at the lowest prices. They should get the same tax benefits as individuals, that companies do for providing health insurance. Everyone should be required to purchase their own health insurance, and taxpayers should get a a hundred percent tax credit for the cost of the insurance since it saves the government much more than that amount
- I do not have any, and I do not qualify for any of the low - income coverage, such as Medicaid or CHIP. But as a family we do not make enough to afford health insurance. It is really tough because we had to have an echocardiogram for my 2 year old daughter, and that alone was $1500, not to mention doctor office visits, chest x - rays, cardioligist visit. all out of pocket. It has just about buried us. Health insurance needs to be more affordable, or medical costs need to be lower
- Yeah, me a few years ago. I spent much of my self - employed career about 27 years without life insurance. I probably b saved $325, 000 in healthcare premiums / b over that time period, after paying for the births of both children, a broken leg, a couple of ER moments, and routine checkups. If you are angling toward "free" healthcare, you will not get any support from me. Part of the oppressive cost of healthcare is paying for those who currently have none. I would lioke to see a down on the rampant fraud. Jail a few doctors and their staffs, close a few hospitals, shutdown a few government bureaucracies, fine the hell out of the thoughtless jerks who drag their snot - nosed kids to the ER monthly, etc. That could halve the current cost of medical insurance. If we ever get the Feds any more involved, costs will continue to skyrocket. b TANSTAAFL / b
- I do not have any health insurance. I can not afford any plans right now. I would just like the prices of things to come down so I can afford it. Terri
